As well as the display of our literature and a sale of knick knacks in the lower function room, refreshments were available and the lunchtime sausage sizzle turned out to be delicious satays. We were favoured by a visit from the Hon Kristina Kenneally, the then Minister for Disabilities et al, who made the official presentation of the 2008 Clear Speech Award for Sydney to Chris Bath from Channel 7. She also made the important presentation to the most recent of our trainees to qualify, Thuvi, of her Teachers Certificate; Thuvi currently lives in Melbourne but she was fortunately able to travel here for the occasion as her training was completed here. In addition there was a display of Omicron assistive telephones and devices for hearing impaired people which was well patronised.
