Coffee at Concord - from Tue 28 Jul 2009 Print
An innovation for 2009 has been the President’s “At Home” in our Concord Clubroom – designated Coffee at Concord and scheduled for the fourth Tuesday morning of each month. Our President is not expecting attendance from distant suburbs but those close by will find it enjoyable. An outside guest, speaking briefly or displaying interesting craft or art items will be invited where convenient.

Coming dates include 28 July and 25 August. Notice of attendance is not mandatory but it might be nice to advise the office if you are thinking of coming.

Bundeena Outing - 20 Apr 2009 Print
Held at the end of March a dozen or so members enjoyed the outing in lovely weather across Port Hacking by ferry and meandering round Bundeena. This is a very popular destination but previous attempts to get there have been foiled by industrial action and the like.

Volunteers' Lunch - 17 Apr 2009 Print
Our branch took the opportunity to honour our volunteers at a delightful lunch at the Burwood Club. Alice Russell was specially honoured for her long service as a teacher and fund-raiser in the Parramatta/Fairfield area with a Certificate of Appreciation and flowers. Mr Tom Sweeney gave us an entertaining talk on some of the famous/notorious people who have been buried at the (now) Macquarie Park Cemetery.
